In 2011, German companies Stockmeier and Oqema (formerly Overlack) created a joint-venture in which they both held a 50% stake, which acquired the shares of Quaron SAS. Stockmeier and Oqema have therefore jointly controlled Quaron since that date.

After 8 years as co-shareholders of Quaron, during which the business and the results of the company increased significantly, the owners of Oqema and Stockmeier have come to the conclusion that their strategies are evolving in different directions, and that it would be preferable for Quaron to have only one shareholder.

Stockmeier has consequently signed an agreement today with Oqema to buy the totality of the shares that Oqema owns in Quaron, and thus become Quaron’s sole shareholder. This will allow the development of deeper cooperation and synergies between the Stockmeier Group and Quaron, in particular in the fields of purchases, business with European key accounts, hygiene and disinfection product range, biocide products.

Simultaneously, Quaron sold to Oqema the company QSO International (formerly Whyte Chemicals SARL), which it had acquired in September 2018. Indeed, QSO International has kept strong operational ties with British company Oqema Whyte Ltd, which is 100% owned by Oqema. If Quaron had remained the owner of QSO International, this company would have belonged 100% to Stockmeier, while Oqema-Whyte Ltd, with which it shares many resources, belongs 100% to Oqema. As this would not be a desirable situation, it has been decided to sell QSO International to Oqema.

Quaron now fully belongs to the Stockmeier Group, which brings us terrific development opportunities in France and in Europe. This family owned company, founded nearly 100 years ago, is present in 14 countries and operates 50 sites in Europe, the USA and Russia.
